Does anyone have experience with Zmodo surveillance systems?  How do they compare with other commercial brands?

They are a consumer grade offering. They have DDNS options, Analog/IP versions, etc. It really depends what you are looking for out of your system. Cheap, quick to install, not so great build quality and support? The BJs/Costco brands will work....

They also go under the Funlux brand which is sold in Sams Club.

I bought one a while back to see if I could get an RTSP stream out of it. I can't remember if I ever did - I don't think so.

The build quality was incredibly cheap. It had a ring of IR emitters around the lens and half the ring went dark.

They might have higher quality models but the one I had was only good as a cheap nanny cam / baby monitor.

Note: We tested a Zmodo product 2 years ago: 360° Motion Detection Camera Tested (Zmodo Pivot). It worked poorly.

Overall, Zmodo seems mostly a solution for people who don't know much about video surveillance and are looking for something cheap on Amazon or other online sellers, e.g. 4 IP camera pack for $100 at Amazon.

Is there a certain model you are looking at?
