I'm looking for a robust and reliable wireless connectivity solution of more than 20 cameras to base station.

Thanks,

Shlomi

What cameras, distance, is there direct line of site from radios to AP, domestic, commercial or industrial environment? And budget?

Shlomi, how close are the cameras to the base station? Are the cameras all near other or are they far apart? Are there line of sight issues? Any idea how much total bandwidth you need for those 20 cameras?

We could certainly through names of vendors but those factors above impact which one / product / approach is best.

The radius of the cell with 20 cameras is 50m-100m. There is no guarantied LOS. We are targeting for HD 1080p cameras.

Hi Shlomi

Would a point to point network (either ring or hub and spoke) using 60GHz millimeter wave frequencies be an option for you? This does give you a very robust network plus high capacity if you need the bandwidth. What is the total bandwidth required? Can you design it with LOS - what is the size of the "window"?

My humble suggestion, look for Mesh systems, any other way non LOS will be a nightmare with no good results. Options to check KBC Networks, Alvarion, Fluid Mesh, ...

How did this every play out? For the record, it's good to do your research on this so you are informed, but probably best to contract with a reputable and known wireless specialist if you need performance guarantees.
