In general for wireless sensors, high performing products use:

  • 2 way/ bidirectional Encryption & Supervision
  • Spread spectrum / frequency hopping
  • Motion Sensor located tamper switches

Wired sensors installed usually require/ are installed with:

  • a line supervision enabling EOL/ End-of-Line Resistor

Which specific questions can we dig deeper on?

Trying to get opinions on weather wired is better than wireless and if so why?

I'd say the difference between types is mostly focused on cost of install rather than secure performance.

That is: unless a building is pre-wired for sensors during construction, running and fishing cables to all the sensors typically costs more than the actual system itself!

In many cases, just tacking up battery powered wireless sensors offer a big cost savings on install labor.  (But you have to live with changing batteries from that point forward.)

I appreciate your insight, and yes I do agree it comes down to labor cost.

It you had to decide on manufacturers of alarm components, who would be on the top of your list?

Which country?  There are leading manufacturers in the US that are unknown in the UK or Australia and so forth.

Also, what is the target installation?  Some manufacturers are geared to residential while others are large commercial.

Wired, except possibly desk duress buttons. DMP or Bosch but I would do DMP if you can get the line.
