The race to the bottom is not productive. The market has limits: People do not continually replace cameras.

What do you think? Will the race to the bottom saturate the market?

Of course, there is new construction which typically / frequently need cameras. However, the levels of new construction vary around the world and even with regions depending on growth and infrastructure spending.

Also, there is replacement business for cameras deployed 5, 7, 10 years ago, etc.

Take for example, though, IP cameras. In the early days growth was tremendous when very few had them but eventually as more and more users had them, growth levels declined (even before the race to the bottom).

On the plus side, over the last few years, the decline in prices has definitely opened up video surveillance to users who never had them before. However, when or if will we reach a point where most of those users now have cameras and do not need many more?
