In access control, there are still legacy name brand manufacturers that require port forwarding or VPN connections if you want to install edge controllers in remote locations, instead of making it so those controllers call back to the home office where you only have to do one static IP address and a port forward. And they wonder by the original cloud based providers are eating their market share, making installations at remote locations much easier with having to setup VPN's or port forwarding.
