Dynamic Range is dependent upon the colour depth of the CCD and the number of bits transmitted per colour within the compressed data stream. Why does IPVM never discuss the number of bits in a camera? How do we know what the colour depth (number of pixels) actually is in a WDR camera or is all this just judged subjectively? Can we assume that WDR surveillance cameras are 10 bit and the rest just 8 bit? Are there any 12 bit?
My OLED TV can handle HDR 10. What is the practical advantage of an HDR surveillance monitor vs just a higher resolution monitor?
