Who's The Best VMS For Playback Of Fisheye?

What's the common tool for playing back downloaded 360 lens (fisheye) video recordings?  It seems like most VMS offerings require the use of their client to dewarp video after it has been downloaded.  Do any export dewarped views?  We'd love to know who has the best solution (if one exists) and what the perfect solution would be.

DW / NX can do both- dewarp saved video in the client and save dewarped video to a regular video file.

Thanks Matthew, what's the FOV of the dewarped video?

I second Matthew's suggestion here. The Nx Witness client includes "universal" dewarping, which can be applied not only to video recorded via the Nx server, but to imported clips and even still images.

From our test of Nx Witness:

After selecting a camera as fisheye, users configure the mounting orientation (ceiling/wall/floor) and may adjust the dewarping geometry, seen here:

Once set up as fisheye, images are automatically dewarped when digitally zooming or using zoom windows. For example, simply drawing two zoom windows on the fisheye image creates two new windows in this example:

Thanks Ethan, so they offer either the native fisheye or dewarped box FOV for export?

Yes, there's a checkbox in export to apply the currently selected filters, including dewarping, to the export.

You can use any of the dewarping modes available, like the single dewarp window above or 180/360 panoramas (180 shown here):

Thanks Ethan, is this a consistent experience with Exacq, Milestone, and Genetec?

Nx has always had the easiest application for 360 dewarping for me. It auto adds the cameras and you can configure it directly by going into the camera properties. Very slick! Unlike most other VMS's which require one to go through a series of configuration windows that need to be set before finally getting the desired experience.
