When it comes to readers mounted in spots that might see abuse, what brands/types do you use?

Note: these devices are not hazardous rated (ie: Div/Class, 'explosion proof', or intrinsically safe) as mentioned in our Access Control in Hazardous & Explosion Proof Areas post, but rather units built to withstand kinetic impacts, wet/dusty/freezing environments, vibrations, and/or wide temp ranges.

Lets put together a list that we can refer for future projects and research.

Here are a few already mentioned in Selecting Access Control Readers:

I know this is an old post but I now find myself needing vandal-resistant readers that support high-freq iClass or anything more secure than Prox. The three links above are for products that support Prox only. The Farpointe looks a lot like the Keri vandal readers. I also found the Honeywell OP90HONS but it's 125k only also. Ideally I'd like a multiclass reader to facilitate migration until new credentials can be issued. Thoughts?

Essex Electronics sells several vandal-rated 'multiclass' models as the iRox Series that may help here.

Thanks - saw those but I didn't think their form factor would work for my application. They look like they either need to be recessed or mounted on a junction box which then itself becomes the vandal target (this is for a public housing project).

Paxton has several options.
