We are rolling out our Spider (2.0). This software checks websites multiple times per week to see what new content they have added. This can be anything from new data sheets to job openings to marketing materials to press releases to new management team pages, etc.

We have over 120 that we are currently spidering. We can easily add more.

Here's the current list (note: it includes companies we started spidering 5 years ago so it does not necessarily mean who is 'worthy'):

Hi John, Geutebruck is another company to consider?

We tried to cover Geutebruck, do a review on products, etc. but they refused to share any pricing (even MSRP). Without some sense of pricing, we cannot cover any company. To that end, plus since they rarely come up in North America, we do not cover them.

Actually, Geutebruck is getting more active in North America, just a bit under the radar. Their concentration is on transportation, correctional facilities, harbors and the like but they are trying to push into the casino market.

You also don't have Dallmeier, inMotion or Vitek listed.

  • HID
  • DMP
  • Videofied
  • SureView
  • OpenEye
  • InControl

Others are still in queue, being reviewed.

As for ACTi and D-Link, we've had some problems with their websites but we want to include both and will revisit them in the near future.

Wow. That is absolutely outstanding. Well done!

We use a lot of Engenius wireless products for installations that require wireless solutions for our cameras. Could we add them?

How about Advidia? A large college here in California just did a big install with them and was mentioned in Security Today magazine. I never heard of them but with the campus police chief bragging about the new system, I'm sure my current clients will be asking me about these cameras. Any tests you can do would be appreciated!

Advidia is relabling Hikvision and ACTi cameras, so there's really no separate testing to be done. We will likely get into testing more models of those two manufacturers as time goes on, but under their own names.
