This morning, someone asked me what they should use for camera overlays and why. I actually wasn't sure how to answer.
Historically, I was anti-overlay, because the VMSes I was using basically displayed anything I needed to see in the GUI (name, time, etc.). But recently, I've found myself putting more information on the overlay, up to and including bitrate, framerate, and IP address (though I make it small and put it in the bottom corner).
