We are planning a shootout of IP camera install tools. What should we include?

It seems like the two most popular handheld options are:

There is also the Veracity Pointsource Wireless, which does not have a display, but supplies PoE and creates a wireless network so users can connect via mobile app or laptop to configure/aim cameras.

We also plan to include wireless dongles supported directly by the camera on multiple manufacturers, such as Avigilon or Hanwha.

Any others we are missing? What are you using? Let us know in the comments.

I have the: Ideal SecuriTest IP and the Ideal Signal Tek2 in my truck, and I would love to hear how they compare to others.

The SecurityTronix unit is widely available in different versions and under different names. The only difference seems to be the color of the rubber protectors. Anyway, it is our most popular tester, since it has been equiped with an HDMI input. The earlier models only had HDMI output.

ACSC • IPVMU Certified

+1 for the IP buddy

I use it almost daily but I usually just end up carrying it around to power a camera so I can plug my laptop into it instead. So it might be interesting to see a laptop comparison for the web interface as well. I love this idea though!
