We have a new position but are having a hard time finding qualified candidates. I see that IPVM discussed doing a job board at one time but I do not believe that it came to fruition. where are the best places to post your open security jobs?

Clint, I don't know anything that's great overall. What type of role are you looking for? Where is it located?

You can certainly mention it here. And with a little more information, we might be able to provide you some pointers on job sites.

Some security distributors will post your ad at their office locations on their bulletin board... your chances are much better if you operate within the area of the distributor however many techs are also willing to relocate...

Like at ADI? That's kind of clever, in that you'll definitely get people within the industry though I am not sure how talented the average ADI picker upper is.

John, not specifically ADI but perhaps. Large distributors might be effective however I did have smaller ones in mind.

We are in Detroit at WSU. This is an integrator level system support position. We support a vendor agnostic 1000+ camera system that is growing and uses NICE Vision as a VMS. In the near future we will be doing a campus consolidation of all the remaining cameras and will them also be incorporation the physical access system to the VMS/PSIM.

Try ASIS Detroit. That's my best idea right now, since you are a user they might send it out in a newsletter or announce it at a monthly meeting.

Btw, that link did not go to the specific job, just the main jobs section.

I would recommend DICE, its mainly geared towards IT which seems to fit in with the scale you are running.

If you need somebody with low voltage experience you may want to hit the local community colleges/technical schools if you don't mind training somebody.

Seek out candidates in your area via linkedin. Think of your local integrators. Shaw, Security Corp., Camtronics, D/A Central, Conti, GSI, Audio Sentry, and the nationals. Network!
