Help Needed: New DVR Loop Outputs To View Monitors?

We are replacing a DVR that has looping, and 8 of the 16 cameras are looped out to a two page quad for remote viewing. The new DVR unit does not have looping outputs. Is there a correct solution for this ?

Does the new DVR support remote viewing from a software client?

There are a variety of low cost quads or muxes (Multiplexers) available, either on Amazon or from traditional professional CCTV suppliers.  Look for one that has looping outputs, and go from the camera to mux/quad, then to the DVR.

Many DVRs have multiple monitor outputs or spot monitor outputs.

Or replace with a DVR that does have looping outputs or multiple monitor outputs.

Sure, but only if the device supports bypassing the 75 Ohm resistor, thru a DIP for instance, like this Axis encoder:

Otherwise, you are likely to degrade the picture substantially.

If the DVR doesn't have such a capability, then an active mux should be used instead.

Degrade in theory. Normally it change a little bit of brightness only.
It's work on a lot of brand of DVR.

BTW, it is D1/960H only. Who really care the quality.

Agreed, if the cables are short enough, maybe no big deal.  But I have definitely seen v-roll and Moiré type effects on longer tees.

And it's D1/960H only, so you need all the quality you can get :)

Thanks for the help!

The customer keeps changing requirements.

Final solution...

Using a Speco 1 input x 4 output video amp. Running it from the monitor out on the DVR to three locations for observation viewing.
