Viewing Station Requirements For 24 Cameras?

Viewing station will access one local NVR, and 2 NVR's connected to the internet at remote locations.

Total camera count 24

Software is Dahuas Smart PSS

In the grand scheme of things, I am not a PC hardware expert. I believe graphics card is important?

Will these machines work?

Powerspec G152 Desktop Computer

i5 7500
8GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB

Powerspec B663 Desktop Computer

i5 7500
16GB RAM
Intel HD Graphics 630 Sharded memory

The output is going to an HDMI splitter, and two 40" TVs. Both TVs will have the same output. We usually set substream to D1 and 10FPS if that helps

Based on the Specifications Requirements from Smart PSS

there are no real high end "recommendations", but if we look at Dahua DSS requirements:

They do give recommended specifications, and with the i5-7500 you have the 4 cores and minimum RAM met or exceeded. I don't believe SmartPSS utilizes GPU offloading (reaching out to somone on our staff to confirm), but they do include a graphics card in the DSS requirements, which you have covered on the first machine.

Based on the low resolution (D1) and frame rate, you should be more than covered with either of those machines.

Your weakest link will be bandwidth between the remotes.

Not if they have dedicated 1000Mbps+ symmetrical links between the locations =)

(I am exaggerating of course) Its a good point about bandwidth between the remotes, but given you're here in a planning stage still, you should be accounting for the bandwidth requirements between your locations. Even if your 2 remote sites have 20 total of the 24 cameras (which I suspect the number is lower), at D1 and 10fps, your incoming bandwidth would certainly be less than 7-8 Mbps total (I would aggressively estimate 3-5Mbps)

I worked on a chain of retail outlets that had 1mbps shared for all store functions.

I still see small businesses with 6 to 20 mbps download and 512k upload.

Remember when a T1 was considered “practically unlimited bandwidth”

Haha I don't disagree at all, and it would have been one of my first questions to a customer looking to do something like that.

Just a little advise on your computer choice. You can save money by buying your computers from Dell Outlet Center. They are refurbs and have excellent pricing. We have used them for years and NEVER had any problems. They all look and perform as new.
