Video Stitching Plugin For Milestone

Hi all,

We are using Milestone Xprotect and really like it.

However, there is one feature that we really like on other VMS but we can't find it on Milestone.

We want to download footage from multiple cameras but to view it all together on the same "stream", hence stitch it together.

By any chance, somebody here know if a plugin that can provide this feature exists?

Thank you.

UI1,

You could put your cameras in adjacent Smart Client camera windows, select camera window properties to stretch the camera video to fill the entire camera window.  You would only have the window border separating adjacent camera video streams.  This might be a quick and dirty way to accomplish what you need but it won't allow you to adjust the stitching overlap.

BTW, we use panoramic multi-imager cameras (4 camera lenses in a single camera body) and the camera does all the stiching for us and presents it to Milestone as a single camera video stream (and single Milestone license).  It works great and keeps the stitching computational load off the Smart Client which is our current bottleneck in the system.

We use the Hikvision DS-2CD6986F-H camera for a 180 degree panoramic view.  The new Hikivsion DS-2CD6924F-I camera just came out which overs the advanced H.264+ codec for the stitched view which really reduces the bandwidth.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for your answers, but I think that my question was not clear.

I meant, for example if I have footage from 5 different cameras (tracking a suspect), that I've downloaded as part of my investigation.

Now, I don't want to have 5 different files (one for each camera) or to have one file with multiple views on the same time.

What I do want is to have one file with a single view that changes each time to the footage I choose.

I could achieve the same effect if I will use a video editing software, even Movie maker in order to just edit each single camera one after each other, but I am looking for a way to do it with Milestone files.

This feature is not in Milestone? I am not too familiar with it, but I know you can do this in Genetec and I assume that the feature sets are fairly similar and there would be some equivalent. I searched it and it looks like this could be under the sequence explorer?
