Two of my clients just purchased vaults with day gates and they want to add access control to manage traffic while the vault door stays open during the day.
Has anyone ever seen a surface mount locking hardware for a cylindrical lockset? Here's a photo of what's in there now.
Is that a picture of the frame/strike side of the door?
Would a surface mount strike not fit?
It is the frame side, I wasnt sure if I could use a surface mount strike like that with a cylindrical lockset. 
Ah, I see the problem now. You need some sort of flush-mount mortise strike to manage the clearances there.
I'll dig a little on this and ask some hardware people if they have an idea and report back.
