Does This HID Controller Support Two Readers On One Door?

No, this isn't some weird access control porn...

I've been instructed to connect two HID prox readers to the single door input of an EH400-K controller. I've never known of such a thing to work reliably. One serial data source paralleled to multiple receivers, sure... Two sources to one receiver though??

Anyone done this?

If you use the proprietary Assa Hi-O bus, the EH-400 can support two readers onboard.

You'll not be able to use Wiegand or Clock & Data Readers, but those limited ones supporting Hi-O.

You might be able to do this if you add a Hi-O connect input module too.  That would give you 1 Wiegand on the controller, plus an additional one on the module.

This is what I'm thinking. The guy who wants me to do it says he does this "all the time"... not sure I buy it, but he insists it's good to go, so I've wired for it now. My objections are documented in an email if it proves troublesome.
