Hi.
I was running several utp cat5 cables in parallel today, as an electrician walked past me. He told me to twist the cat 5 cables around each other, to reduce noise emission to his signal cables running along the same conduit, and to my own cables. At least, that was how I understood it. I am aware that the cat cables have twisted pairs, to cancel out some of the ems from the outside, but I was not aware of any benefit of twisting the cables to avoid noise, from the outside nor from the inside.
