Not directly related...

Compare this to hikvision's statement about "never intentionally " putting a backdoor in their products.

This is a well worded strong statement, IMHO.

BlackBerry Products Do Not Have Backdoors. Full stop.

Of course, I am shocked that blackberry has $1.4 billion to buy someone.

Who is Blackberry?

Seriously, I didn't know they were still around.

I though the same thing, however I had heard that they recently released new Android phones. Also, they are still huge in other countries  Canada has a strong following since they are based there  I did a.training in Canada and so many people had blackberry hardware  Developing countries use them because they can get secure communications without needing to maintain their own hardware

Their Android phones are made by someone else, I can't remember the company. They basically package a "secure" version for Android for the phones.

Blackberry has pivoted to more a software and security company. They've been buying up a few cybersecurity companies in the last few years.

I was on a plane last night - and the guy next to me had a blackberry.  I was shocked - it was the first time I'd seen one in probably 4 years.

Can't have back doors if you don't have products!

Seriously though, kudos to them.
