This Guy Wants Us To 'Put A Bounty' For Lap Dance Pics

This guy is objecting to our journalistic credentials because we won't 'put a bounty' up for lap dance pictures.

As he explained to us on LinkedIn messaging:

While we are happy to criticize corporate behavior, including of the sexual variety (e.g., Sexism and the ISC West Party GirlsThe Sleaziest Booth Of ISC West - Rapid Response, etc.), we are not going to put up bounties for pictures.

Moreover, we do not report things that we cannot substantiate (1) officially from the company, (2) from multiple independent people with close ties to a company, or (3) some form of company or legal documentation that we find. While I am sure company lap dance pictures would draw lots of hits, this is not something we are interested in.

That noted, if there is a substantial corporate issue (i.e., harassment, assault, etc.) and someone willing to go on the record or provide us clear evidence, it is something we would certainly publish on.

But, please, don't ask us to put a bounty for lap dance pics, because that is not what journalists do.

He may be more upset by the fact that he has some pictures that he thinks someone will pay for but can’t find anyone that will.

No, he is not claiming he has the photos. He somehow wants us to go out and offer money to get lap dance photos...

Yeah, I get that he is not “claiming” he has them, it just seems like bs.

It sounds like he was there in person.  So he saw people taking pics of it, but didn’t take any himself or get any sent to him by the pic takers?  And just wants somebody put up a bounty to entice one of those pic takers to send the pictures that he has never seen and can’t get himself?

So if somebody sends you for free, a bona-fide, verifiable pic of a corporate event with lap dances, would you report on it?

I imagine an angle like “Unusual Sales Incentives - Lap Dances, Good Idea or Big Mistake?”...

Since nothing like that has ever happened, I have never thought hard about it. One immediate question I would have - Is that literally at an official sales meeting or was it a few of the sales people/leaders going out on their own? It's one thing if all the sales people are called into a meeting and an exec gets a lap dance in front of them. It's another if a few people choose to go out on their own at night, etc.

I couldn't make an abstract definitive decision. To the extent that it was more required / official / public, that would weigh more heavily in considering whether it was newsworthy.
