Early Detection Failure With Thermal Analysis - Hikvision / Milestone Plugin

We have analyzed the temperature development of objects in several projects. As a result, it was possible to detect failures, for example of insulators in power stations or leaks in cooling lines, at an early stage.
For this analysis, we have developed a Milestone plugin for Hikvision Thermal Cameras.

I wonder if anyone sees any other possible uses for this solution.

That is very cool! Looks like you can create events to trip rules within Milestone and cause actions on different detected temperatures as well. Very nice Milestone plug-in!

sorry.... someone is going to have to explain to me why what I just watched in that video is valuable to anyone.

Note:  I am not surmising that it isn't valuable - I'm just pointing out that this video doesn't give me enough to figure out how it is valuable beyond being able to plot temperature data on a chart (which is not new).

Can someone please help me to understand?

Thanks for your post and sorry, that the video is not explain it well enough.

The customers for whom we have implemented this development wanted long-term temperature monitoring as an early warning system. It is about monitoring the temperature of cooling lines.
I'm sure, that there are certain systems available. The added value of our solution is, that it is fully integrated into the VMS (Milestone), which is also used as a security system for perimeter monitoring and this solution can be realized with a relatively small budget.

I find it interesting and I always look to add value to standard monitoring solutions. Not long ago such a solution would have been very expensive. Today, a complete, non-contact temperature monitoring solution, including reporting, can be implemented into a standard VMS for relatively little money.

Pretty amazing.  Great way to visualize the data.  Can it be adapted to other thermal thermography cameras, or is it hardcoded to Hikvision?

Thank you for your comment. The Plugin Supports only Hikvision.

Roger, any plans to support other thermal providers, e.g., FLIR or Axis? At least in North America, both are significantly more widely used than Hikvision.

Apologies for my late reply.

We have worked project driven, therefore only Hikvision is supported at the moment. before Hikvision we worked with Pelco, however this camera was discontinued.
