We've only had two instances of someone covering up cameras (tape or damp paper towels, etc.) and I'd like to try to do something to thwart that going forward. Both locations were such that another camera could not see the affected camera, and it's really not feasible to cross cover like that with all the locations involved anyway.
We use XProtect Corporate and Axis cameras. I was wondering if any of you were familiar with something that could be done with VMS rules, on-board camera detection, etc. to trigger an alert so that we could push out email/phone alerts through the VMS. I don't think shock/tilt detection would be applicable here, detection for the camera view suddenly going dark wouldn't be applicable everywhere (some cameras are in rooms where lights do turn off on a regular basis.) Maybe something in the range of "fog detection?"
