I would like to see IPVM test the Dotworkz Ballistic Kits, which "protects against small arms fire up to 9mm and 45 caliber ranges and all forms of vandalism".

Ironically Dotworkz don't seem to make a ballistic kit for bullet cameras

I find 'ballistic ratings' pretty worthless:

  • The surface a 'ballistic rated' camera is mounted to almost never is. In summary, just shoot the camera off the wall. Who cares if it withstands direct hits if it is dangling by the cable?
  • If you're good enough to hit the camera once, you're good enough to hit it twice. Or eight times. Most (not all) ballastic ratings are measured using single shots. We live in an era where 30 round magazines are common, but single shot weapons aren't.

Maybe there's eight cameras...

I could put this dome out of commision with just one round... from my paintball gun!
