Should You Fire A Security Technician For Not Handling E-Waste Properly?

This comes right out of an ongoing ADT case, e.g., ADT Sued For Alleged Age Discrimination, plantiff says its age discrimination, ADT says he failed to handle e-waste properly, excerpt:

In or around February 2019 Plaintiff received safety training on hazardous waste management. The training went over safety procedures and protocols for properly handling, sorting, and disposing of e-waste. Improper handling of e-waste could lead to safety hazards such as fires. On at least three occasions following the hazardous waste management training, Plaintiff improperly handled, sorted and/or disposed of ewaste. Management counseled Plaintiff and provided him written warnings for not properly following Defendant’s safety procedures. Plaintiff’s continuous failure to follow safety protocols and procedures when handling e-waste left Defendant with no other choice but to end his employment on or around October 18, 2019.
