I have successfully used HySecurity products with multiple access systems in the past. On a current project, the integrator is suggesting DoorKing as the operator for both slide and swing gates. The ACS will be one of Lenel, AMAG, CCure. I have read the DKS operator manuals and see nothing to alarm me, however would be interested in anyone else's experience. Will DKS be fine for me? Thanks.
Security Gate Integration To ACS
Door King is a decent product and i have specified it plenty of times. It accepts dry contacts so should not have any issues.
Agree, just connect a 'door controller' output contact to the operator's input contacts, and it works.
For others, visualize a door controller connected to an Electric Strike. Now, just replace the strike with a gate operator. Works the same way.
Thanks for the responses. Confirms what I had believed (and hoped to be true).
Located in Canada, we've used the Automatic Systems BL series for 10yrs and now hitting EOL, have a project to replace these with Wallace International FoldSmart (for their slide model, WI Delta gate or heavy duty Alpha). For us footprint, throughput, reliability and the effects of snow/freezing rain on movement type were key. In terms of the current projects scope, +20 gates from coast-to-coast all integrated into a centralized ACS. Pretty straight forward as Brian pointed out, but we took it to the next level with using barrier arms for a man-trap configuration and this requires wiring between the barrier and fenced gate once the command is provided from the ACS to initiate the sequence. The "override all" option was also available through the ACS for delivery trucks. The new project will see more advanced programming such as queue detection using the loop sensors to expedite throughput to 4 cars per minute as long as the ACS has a schedule applied on controllers output. Also don't forget about fire system integration and operation during power outages.
