Kratos is 400 people? And Convergint is 3400 (per their web site?) Is 400 "large"?
For an integrator, 400 people is large. I think a 100 person integrator is large.
For reference, we did a poll 2 years ago and more than 80% said $50 million or less would be considered a large integrator:
And Kratos security has revenue of $135 million, so on that scale, they are super large.
Btw, the valuation was pretty poor at 0.5x revenue which implies low profitability and low growth expectations for that business.
Securitas has an advantage in the US… if they apply it. They can provide single source, end-to-end private security for their customers. SALES-INSTALLATION-SERVICE-MONITORING-RESPONSE. Key word… RESPONSE, the difference between “deterrent” security and “defensive” security. Private response also allows for a variety of add-on RMR. Provident does well for themselves offering that kind of service in and around Vancouver CA. They install, monitor, and respond to all their own systems.
not much separation of duties there. please don't tell me they self-audit too. and by the way even if I'm impressed by the light bar on the KIA marked ALARM RESPONSE, I expect the installer to not be mounting vulnerable swill on my network...
Might be a move to keep up with G4S or pass them? Securitas bought Diebold's electronic security division about a year ago. Who will Allied Universal buy?
