S2 Software, Does It Work Without SUSP Being Renewed, Or Is A Subscription?

Hi, Does anyone know if S2 Software is a perpetual license, in that, does it work with SUSP being renewed, or is a subscription and wont work if SUSP is not renewed? Seems to be some confusion at an end-user where we didnt originally sell the S2 software, but provide some maintenance services
