Ken Massrey, an early Pelco employee and former Pelco rep firm President, has passed away.

Ken covered Hawaii and we met a few times when he stopped in. A really good person, RIP.

It is a sad day for the security industry. For those of us who knew Ken we will miss him greatly. I always considered Ken a friend and rep associate that I could count on. He was known for his tenacity and would not compromise his standards. My heart goes out to Barbara and the entire Massrey family. May God be you at this difficult time. Brad Warren

I only knew Ken for a short time but during that time I worked with him closely and in fact, I just saw him at his office on Friday. He was a great guy who I considered a friend and was a true professional who really cared about his customers. I was shocked to see this post after our visit a few days ago. RIP.

Like Jon Isaacson, I only had the opportunity to know Ken during the past year, when he decided to take us on as one of his lines. However, during that time, we quickly built a relationship that transcended the work environment. We shared a passion for the security industry, our customers and baseball. More importantly, we shared in the values of family. He and his wonderful wife Barbara invited me to stay at their home during my many trips to the west coast. He got to know my family as well and asked about them often. Though I never met his daughters, he was very proud of them.

I never tired of listening to stories of what it was like in his early days, and I respect him for his integrity and discussions we had during long drives. He will be missed.

My prayers go out to Barbara, their girls and his brother Russell.

Ken was my rep when I was an integrator living in Arizona in the mid 2000’s and after I came to Pelco, he helped me learn the “ropes” as a Strategic Account Director and then reported to me as the West Regional Sales Director and in my current role as VP of Sales. Ken created the Pelco atomic logo, was the original Sales Manager at Pelco back in the early days, and then became our first manufacturer’s rep. I have always had the utmost respect for him, both technically and as a father to his two girls and loving husband to Barbara. Ken was a very kind and generous person, though he did not always let everyone see this side of him. Though we parted ways with him professionally at the end of last year, he will be remembered for the contributions he made to the company for many years to come. My sincerest condolences to his family, they will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

If anyone in the security community would like to honor his memory, in lieu of flowers the family suggested donations to be made to:

Sad news indeed. Ken has always been a standard in the industry and one of the first reps I knew personally when I began my venture into the CCTV market over 10 years ago. My thoughts are with his many friends and colleagues but especially his family.

Sad news. I never met Ken but I spoke with him several times on the phone and was always impressed with how he conducted himself and his company. God Speed Ken.
