I am currently using a Hikvision video intercom "doorbell" in my residence (self-installed), had it about 1 1/2 years now and got into the system by buying from AliExpress before the units were available in the USA. FW upgrades are not possible.
My system is set up with the camera "main station" at the front door (where most visitors have no idea what to push to call me). I have 5 repeater stations throughout the house. All are POE ethernet connected to my LAN so I've got an excellent infrastructure. I have never been able to get the system to record to my high-end Hikvision NVR so my system is, in essence, a high-end video doorbell with no recording or remote talk capability.
Time to move on with another vendor.
Amazon has the Ring Pro Elite which uses POE. Looks nice and works with the Echo spot and has an IOS app.
Installation complexity is of no concern to me. Performance and convenience of use are most important.
Can anyone share some experience with the POE Ring Pro Elite? I have read the IPVM review of the Ring Pro
Thanks.
