Coax Confusion: Which Is Better RG6 Or RG59?
In my experience, the major factor was the distance necessary to connect the analog camera to the termination point (encoder, matrix switcher, recording device). As a rule of thumb, I used 750 feet as a maximum for RG-59 and about 1,000 feet for RG-6 (although I have heard of others using a greater distances).
