Residential Systems That Generate Facial Alerts?

Has anyone found a system like Nest that gives facial alerts at a similar price point?

I know it can be done with a VMS or analytics device but I'm looking for something around this price point.

We have residential clients ask specifically for Nest cameras because they seen the face alerts and I'd like to offer them the same feature set in a professional grade system that isn't 10x the price.  TIA!

Bruce, thanks for the question and your first comment!

There are a handful of residential systems (that at least claim) to offer facial alerts.

Outside of low cost, what other features or requirements do you want? For example, what makes the Nest offering not an option for you? I am not saying it should be, I am just trying to understand what other elements are impacting your decision.

The most recent residential face alert option is the Hikvision Ezviz Lookout doorbell camera. It does not seem to be shipping yet but should soon. From seeing it live at CES, it had poor WDR which is likely going to be a factor for face alerting.

And that brings up a broader point with all these residential facial alerting systems, they are going to false alert and miss people (how much will vary on the system and the scene). You'll want to set expectations appropriately and be careful not to create a service call headache if people are not happy with the alerting.

Sorry for the delayed response!

The main issue with Nest is that it's designed to be a DIY type product.  While we can buy Nest from some of our suppliers, the margin is minimal and there's no referral or RMR when the client signs up for their subscription service.

We prefer to avoid DIY solutions in favor of professionally installed gear from manufacturers that support their dealers!
