I am curious, I have a customer with a simple Hikvision 8 channel NVR installed at one location, and they wish to view remotely from their administration building a mile away. I have had no success getting them remote access...any suggestions?

If there is line of sight between the buildings using a PTP wireless bridge (like the ubiquiti nanobeam) will work. Easy to configure and inexpensive ($199 on amazon for a pair or individually through distribution for +/- $80/ea).
Otherwise they will need to pony up for either standard internet, 4G/LTE internet, or they can contact a local WISP (wireless internet service provider) who will install a similiar device to the one listed above (wireless bridge) to bring them internet (5-10 mbps is all they should need).
