Remote Audio Monitoring Recommendation?

I have a customer asking about remote audio monitors from the main location to two remote locations. The remote locations are a couple thousand feet away trough a heavily forested area. There is internet service at all locations so I’m thinking IP would be the way to go. Using a phone app is not practical. It should be audible via a speaker for 10 hours per day. It is an unusual request for us. I’m looking in the direction of an encoder that will stream to two decoders over the internet.  Has anyone put something like this together or have any recommendations?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm trying to understand your application a bit better before making a recommendation.  You only need audio - no surveillance correct?  I see mention of encoders and decoders which, while applicable to audio, is throwing me off.

Is there a VMS in-play at all?  There are many integrations that could fulfill your need quickly and easily if so.

Alternately, you may be looking at what essentially amounts to an always-on IP intercom or SIP-based device.

There is no VMS or video surveillance. Yes. Essentially an always-on remote IP speaker.

Thanks for the reply.

If what you're looking for is an IP based microphone to stream audio back to the main location, we're launching this product at ISC West.

That is interesting and may work for the application. is it not available till April? I Do you know what size of streaming buffer it has?

I'm not sure on the exact buffer size, but it's small.  The mic streams via RTSP and the latency is generally less than 1 second.

We're shipping a few early units this month with the official launch at ISC.

Digital Acoustics is popular for these kinds of applications.

Thanks Brian! That looks like what I'm looking for.
