Dear  ;

I am working on benchmark analysis, and I need some information ( basic information) about the installed CCTV system  in refineries (sugar refineries / oil refinery) (  case studies) concerning sugar refineries that highlights : only BASIC information (brand and quantities of cameras, VMS, Video-intelligence, storage...) just to have idea about  system scenario

we are not limited in locations ( any part of the world)

thanks a lot

Best regards.

My apologies, I do not know of any as that is pretty specific niche area. That said, I don't think most camera and VMS selections will be that unique unless there are some unique requirements. Are there certain specific environmental considerations? Or are there specific systems that need to be integrated or analytics that are desired, etc.?

Tell me what is the problem with sugar refineries? What is the purpose? Thefts? Or you need to cover the process. The price is different. Once I was consulting one sugar refinery. Their major problems were to set control their idustrial scales and vehicle control.

As to the oil refinery. What do you need? Perimeter? For example when Telelink was doing  Lukoil refineries they used Milestone.

Oil refinery has the almost the same prescriptions as the airport and harbors. The same problems, the same threats.

Sugar don't needs x-rays, termal cameras etc.

If you have been conducting a lot of airports or harbours. It shouldn't be the problem to find any information you want. :)

It is different,  risk assessment is used to inform decision-making about their risk cartography by using logical, structured and consistent approach to assessing risk. Benchmark study is about to provide the senior management with  technological trends in first time and than  list a similar perimeter installations, in order to highlight the best practices and orientations related to the activity field.

Benchmark informations ,are not provided to design the final solution or to set the installation scenario , but it is listed to align  and put the customer management with similar context.

Thank you for explaning me,

I have found you some info, maybe it will help you

As to the sugar refineries. In my region  they  often chosing the cheapest ofer. It may be Hikvision or D@hua. An average amount of cameras used per object is between 32 and 80. They are paying attention on sorting procces, warehose and loading. As to the analythics - perimeter defense, vechicle control. They are focusin on access control.

As to the oil refineries. I have some exaples. ORLEN in the Lietuva have had about 256 analog cameras and at the moment when the article was written they were moving to Indigovision.

I have found out that this list of comanies uses Arecont Vision https://www.arecontvision.ru/asp/solutions/9/Oil_Gas_TEK

If you need the deeper information try ask HERNIS - the leader in OIL CCTV.

If you want more information about the situation with sugar industry in Moldova. I can share the contacts of the chief's project manager of the of the leading companies. I am the end user and my industries is construction, logistics and retail. As far as i know they have called the tender. But they are at the stage of making decision. We have 2 mainstreams Hikvision and Dahua. But you'd better ask him. market@videosecurity.md

I hope he will be happy to discuss about oil and sugar :)

Hi

I work in the oil and gas sector as a security design consultant and the process for identifying physical and electronic counter measures typically uses a risk analysis process as follows:

Risk Assessment - Asset Characterization, Threat Analysis, Risk Analysis

Security Policy Development  / Operational Requirements

Mitigation/ Countermeasure Selection  - Based on the outcomes of the Risk Assessment and Operational Requirements.

Specification Development - A specification is drawn up to meet the identified threats

Product selection is the last element of this process and once a RFP is issued with a specification it is usually left to integrators to meet the required performance with the products they select and the system design they offer.

There may be a corporate policy in place that means  that systems must meet certain criteria such as ONVIF compliance to ensure compatibility with existing systems.

There may be issues with hazardous environments such as explosive atmospheres where all equipment must be EX / ATEX rated. This will almost certainly be  the case in areas of a sugar refinery as sugar is a hydrocarbon and is highly flammable in certain forms.

My apologies if this is covering ground that you already understand but it is highly unusual for refinery projects to identify specific products before this type of analysis is conducted even if senior management wish to understand new technological trends.

Product evaluation forms part of my work but it is almost always in the context of addressing the identified risks to a clients assets / people and operational requirements.

Thanks a lot for your reply

Your risk assessment  appoach is good. And meet Iso 31000 standards, I use it with ASIS RA1-2015, SRA, ESRM,....

In my context is not different  we have already completed  Risk Assessment - Asset Characterization, Threat Analysis, Risk Analysis, deliver risk cartography.

Before starting the scenario selection to implement products functional and technical requirement to elaborate RFP,  we have in the scope to offer a benchmark study that will highlight technological trends and also provide scenarios of installed systems in a similar perimeter with comparative analysis.

This is the particularity with this projects

At the moment, we are completing integrated security system at the Gazprom refinery in Serbia. This project includes new IP based surveillance around perimeter, integration of existing surveillance, access control at all gates with LPR and wedge barriers and a new fence with fiber optics sensing cable as a perimeter protection. We are also building a fiber optics LAN network in ring topology to support the whole system.

We are using NUUO Crystal NVR's, Vivotek fixed and speed dome cameras, Kantech access control, CIAS and FFT perimeter protection and Comnet network switches.
