In your experience, how long should video images be retained in nursing homes where many of the residents have age-related disabilities such as dementia and Alzheimer's? And why?
Recording Retention - Elder Care Facilities
We do 30 days minimum.
The minimum is required by our Government health services branch for long-term care facilities. Most incidents are caught within 3-4 days (max), but sometimes a social worker or other Government rep swings by a week or two after a complaint is filed and wants to review the footage.
What state are you from. what is is the specific law or regulation that requires this? What state is involved?
The Province of Alberta.
I am going based on what my clients tell me - if anyone else is from Canada, perhaps they know where (if) the regulation is written. We have not had to demonstrate the 30-days to the Government as of yet.
