Recommended VMS For H.265 Support?

I am looking for a possible VMS options which support H.265.

I am using Uniview cameras. They have their own VMS, but not exactly stable for installations above 100 cameras.

Hikvision, Dahua and Geovision are not an option as they are competitors and hence cannot offer them even if they are compatible. Heard that Video Insight supports but didn't get a positive vibe about it due to lot of negative reviews.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

As of right now, your options are really limited. Video Insight only supports H.265 on Panasonic cameras at the moment. Milestone only supports it on Vivotek. Genetec supports it on Vivotek and some Samsung, and only recently added support for some Dahua models.

The VMS with the widest H.265 support we have seen is Axxon Next. See our test of it here. They support several manufacturers as well as H.265 RTSP streams, which others do not. Looking at their supported devices, they don't specifically state they support H.265 Uniview cameras, but it looks like they support H.265 via ONVIF, which is very new/rare, so they may be worth a try. They have a free trial you can download here.

Hey #1,

We've been doing lately a lot of H.265 compression cameras and we've been using GeoVision VMS.

Most of the cameras should be linked through Onvif, you just need the specification of your hardware to be able to support H.265 with no issues.
