Noob checking in! I'm working on an interview room setup, in a developing nation. My camera brand availability is pretty limited. I've been testing some Louroe Verifact microphones with HIKVision cameras, specifically the DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3. It's a great camera, perfect for our needs... except it doesn't support AAC. The audio is pretty muddled, not at all what I was hoping for. The Verifact mic's record clear audio directly into my PC, so it seems the HIK codec is the limiting factor. I'm pretty much limited to G.711 audio in terms of what the HIK offers and what our VMS can accept (Nx Witness). I'm not using one for Louroe's power adapters, and I'm hoping to be able to avoid it, and that AAC is my ticket to better audio.
But again, I have limited experience so I wanted to ask the HiveMind for some feedback.
