Provision-ISR (Israeli company) is slowly making a name in cctv market. Does anybody use/know it and have opinions to share?

I don't know a lot about Provision-ISR but I do know that they have OEMed TVT and were impacted by the TVT Backdoor, including having to reset settings to factory default to deal with removing the backdoor:

They have been around for many years but given their ongoing OEMing, I don't think much of them. To be clear, I am not saying they are not selling some quantity of devices, just that there is not much real technology behind it.

Good catch John.that's exactly the impression i had after visiting a costumer who is strongly advertising Provision: the cameras exactly looked TVT.i won't be so sure about nvr ,the GUI looked proprietary or at least not similar to any other productor's GUI and that's exactly what they claim that the hardware is unimportant so that's why it can be made in China while the software (intended also as firmware) is everything and they state they develop it in Israel. The most advertised solution they have  facial recognition that is gainin some reputation.Worth an ipvm test in future?

No, not unless they can show that they actually have their own facial recognition and they have some of their own Intellectual Property.

Right now, lots of companies are OEMing TVT's facial recognition, which is a recipe for disaster - Foolish Strategy: OEMing Facial Recognition

Interesting points on facial, if you do some digging you will find the TVT facial algorithm is actually from a well respected manufacturer: http://avigilon.com/patent-licensing/current-licensees

Also, having experience with both Provision and TVT recorders and cameras I don't see Provision doing much of there own development as the GUI on NVR and feature set is identical.

No, TVT is not licensing facial algorithms from Avigilon.

I am well familiar with Avigilon's patent licensing program, and it is for patents, not code. In other words, you license this from Avigilon, so Avigilon will not sue you. Avigiilon does give any license holders code nor implementation.

I know this is an atypical practice in this industry but this is how patent licensing works under US law.
