Power Load Calculations

I was going to include load calculations in the power and battery posts.

GSOC options/integrations

You mean operations centers? If so, I'm going to cover reaction plans in post 39.

Preventative Service & Maintenance

This is a good idea.

I actually did write a guide to transmission protocols, though I called them reporting formats (following typical monitoring contract terminology). And I concentrated on Contact ID, as it is the most commonly used format, although I've heard of installers having VOIP problems switching to 4/2.

Alarm Reporting Formats / Contact ID Overview

Maintenance and troubleshooting will be covered in 40 (Using DMMs) and 41 (Clearing Troubles), and will be mentioned in 33 (Reducing False Alarms).

2-Way Voice Systems would be nice cover. There are a few different ways to go on those.

One is to add it to a compatible hardwired alarm panel, which requires some power calculations, aux power supply and observance of restrictions as to module placement.

Another method to accomplish 2-Way Voice is to use an all-in-one alarm panel (AIO), but that appears to be limited to just the AIO panel preventing the installation of additional remote stations.

The last is the standalone  PERS, but that might be outside the scope of the subject matter.

What about installation and specials tools such as drill bits, wire fishing tools, etc?  Will there be any tips, tricks of the trade, and do's and don'ts, when it comes to the installation of devices, wiring, conduit, recessed contacts, etc.?

Electrical code concerns might need to be mentioned, such as running low voltage wiring in proximity of high voltage, penetration of fire rated walls, etc.

Under Alarm Panels, maybe cover the utility cabinet, such as those times when a  commercial grade cabinet, like the Vista ULKT, might be needed or considered,  tamper protection, sizing the cabinet to accommodate other modules, installing the panel within the protection zone.  (I found a few panels installed otherwise.)

Placement of panels can be critical.  In some instances they are too accessible to an intruder and can be compromised if the intruder can reach them quickly or can be tampered with during the hours of business.
