If you are not media, you cannot imagine how bad 95%+ of PR outreach is. But just like he says, almost all are boring mass emails, which is especially bizarre because in the physical security industry there are very few publications of consequence.
Actually, if you are a manufacturer, I'd love to hear your company's justification or rationale for mass emailing media.
