This is an odd case. Granted, scrutiny against Hikvision is rising, e.g. just this month - Japanese Chipmaker Apologizes For Supplying Hikvision and Hikvision Cameras In Norway A "Scandal" and of course a few months ago Bans Roll Across Scotland And UK Against Dahua and Hikvision.

Now, SCMP, a Hong Kong based newspaper, runs a story:
