Hello, we started doing small 4 camera systems for home users...

We are just using dahua nvr's.

Its a pain to have to forward ports and set up ddns etc.

Does anyone know of a small system that uses the "phone home" or upnp method so that we dont have to forward ports?

Check out the FLIR NVRs. They're going to look reeeeeeal familiar, but they have cloud access included. A lot of the Dahua OEMs (FLIR, Q-See, etc.) include this where Dahua often does not, or is really vague about it.

Thanks. what do you mean by "cloud access"?

The "dahua cloud" is not really a cloud based system at all... it just lets you connect to all your NVRs from once place.

Has anyone ever used something like a linksys cam or dropcam?
That is the kind of true cloud viewing we are looking for
An NVR with that type of viewing built right in... to make it easy for home installs.

That's how the FLIR NVRs (and others) work. No port forwarding, no manual setup. You scan the QR code from the mobile app and connect. See this section of the manual.

There's Dahua Easy4IP Cloud, which seems to be what you want. Not sure where or when it is available:

Wondering if easy4ip is really Ozviz underneath, or something else:

Dahua Technology announced the wide availability of a cloud-based video platform by OzVision, a video cloud solution platform integrated within Dahua Technology cameras and recorders. Dahua Technology customers can now leverage OzVision to integrate third-party solutions into their branded cloud offerings for business and residential use.

Of course, in typical Dahuan style no other information can be found.

OpenEye has a new service to make this easier as well.

Our Storm NVRs offer easy bar code or serial number setup for remote access without complex Router/DNS/Port Forwarding setup. Simply scan the QRcode with your IOS or Android smartphone or type in a serial number and away you go. We call the app "Storm Cloud"
