Looking for some personal recommendations for personal assist / emergency alarms for the elderly.
The particular application is a person who works alone in a farm that is away from the house.
Most offerings seem to be subscription based so I am looking to see are there any good offerings in the DIY arena that I can setup myself and only have the monthly cost of a data sim card.

Where would this device call?
We tested Guard Llama Mobile Panic essentially using the user's smartphone to broadcast relevant location details to a dispatcher. Most mobile-PERS buttons use a similar model. I am not familiar with one that does not ring a monitoring center and that is a 'one time' hardware buy only.
Ideally the device would SMS or Push a notification to selected people.
Guard Llama looks good but not available in the UK.
I am surprised there isn't like a clear leader in this area, a lot of options I have researched are very basic (but probably do the job they are assigned to do)
