Why is Panasonic OEMing access control? And why is this something they are touting?

At IFSEC, Panasonic announced they are entering the European access control market, OEMing Bravida.

"Door nodes, access units, power supplies, alarm nodes, card readers, key cards and the software platform to support the hardware will be launched under a joint Panasonic and [Bravida] Integra branding approach."

I just don't understand the business strategy of such a deal. How does re-labeling someone else's access control make sense? I guess it's a money play, but it does not improve their overall positioning.
