Are You Using Two Factor Authentication?

We were discussing internally how common two factor authentication has become lately. I was in the process of signing up for a SonicWall account which asked to turn it on. With that account, I now have 10 accounts using 2FA.

Is it becoming this common for everyone or have I just somehow wandered into a 2FA world?

Curious to see how quickly it is growing and what sort of adoption people expect in the future.

Also very curious if anyone has deployed VMS with 2FA. Or for Windows login.

Almost all of my 2FA accounts are cryptocurrency related. The other two are my Google account and my password manager. I love the added security of 2FA, but loath changing phones due to the work involved in generating new keys for all my existing 2FA accounts. Last phone migration did not also move my Google Authenticator entries.

For a while I had a smart watch with a 2FA app. Getting my time-based one time codes from my wrist felt really natural. I might have to get a new smart watch just to have that again.

I've been using Authy to keep track of all my 2FA. Luckily everything I use supports third party authenticators so I don't have to get texts. I know getting a text on my phone is sort of the same, but Authy has a desktop app and it just makes it simpler to copy and paste if I'm sitting in front of it.

When it has been offered, I am using 2 factor.  I think it is a great idea and wish more sites and applications would use it.
