Off-Site Monitoring For Multiple Clients, Different Camera Brands, Considering I-View

I have been reading a lot of information here and elsewhere about the fundamentals of off-site monitoring solutions, and ultimately learning a lot through the process.  We have a 24/7 control room and remotely monitor both seen and unseen alarms for various clients across both residential and corporate realms.  These include both alarm activation's and video verification solutions, i.e. IP Surveillance.  We have recently invested in Geovision's Center V2 solution for our "Black Screen" or event based monitoring, and have been installing Geovision IP camera solutions into our client's premises so as to monitor them "license free".  However, I am finding that this way of thinking limits our market penetration and am looking at a fundamentally different solution whereby I can link up multiple clients, with existing different brand cameras, both IP and Analogue, and offer them off-site guarding as a service.  I am leaning towards i-View as our main platform, but would like to get feedback from the IPVM community as to best practices for growing market share this way.  I do not want to base this investment off the back of only what I am being told by different vendor salesman, but rather from communities such as this one, with unbiased opinions and different ways of thinking.

I look forward to you advice and thank you in advance.

iViewNow and Immix CS tend to be the two major options central stations consider in your position. DICE also has video event handling built into their software, but unless you are already using DICE as your automation software, the switching cost (in both dollars and hassle) may not be worth it.

You mentioned iViewNow being your "main platform", if you mean main platform for handling video events, and then using your CS automation software for everything else (receiving events, account management, etc.) that should work as expected. If you mean using iViewNow as your "main platform" in the sense of it being a stand-alone system to receive and handle events, you will likely find that Immix is more robust in that scenario.

I would suggest looking at pricing for both at your current size, and where you realistically expect to scale to in the next few years. Last time I looked at pricing in depth for both, it varied greatly based on total channels licensed and both had a pricing "sweet spot" (I recall iViewNow being cheaper to get started with and at smaller scale, and Immix being cheaper overall at larger scale, but this may have changed).

Thank you Brian.

I like the Immix CS and will certainly investigate more.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hello Justin,

More than 2 years has past since you raised this topic. Could you give us a small update as to which solution you went for? Im also looking at both Sureview's Immix and iViewNow, so any real world experiences would be much appreciated.

Thx

Jakob
