I've been Milestone guy for 10+ years. However, my installs seem to be evolving into more installs, but fewer devices, averaging closer to 16 devices. Most of these are not monitored every day, but only when there is an event. I'm finding that for these installs, Milestone has just not been ideal. For example, the last issue for some reason the event server had stopped and therefore the cameras had not been recording for over a month. In another instance, Windows did not recover correctly from an extended power failure, and so on.
I'm looking at either going to an embedded NVR, such as the Vivotek ND9424P-v2 or similar. Alternatively building out a digital spectrum or Hanwha Wave NVR with Linux. The advantage here is some centralized management.
