IPVM

Not only can you test your knowledge, now you can compare how much you know against your peers.

This expansion to IPVM quizzes shows your score vs the average respondent.

Benefits:

  • Know what areas you are lacking compared to other industry professionals
  • Learn what problems / deficiencies are most significant in the industry

You will see these results when you submit your quizzes.

Up top, your overall score will be compared to the average taker, like so:

And then, for each question, statistics will be displayed. For example:

It looks like a lot of people do not know the difference between margin and markup.

And here's another:

Quite a lot of people do not know the pixel count of 1080p, forget about mastering PPF.

Go ahead, take some quizzes or check your results.

Let us know what you think.

Surprising Meta-Lesson learned from quiz percentages analysis: Abe Lincoln was wrong.

Take for example the brutal puzzler known as the Surveillance Tech Integrator Quiz. This hair-puller stumped me more than once, and as an average our collective score was a below an F-, at 47.8%. Which means taken as a whole we gave more wrong answers than right ones. Certainly room for improvement. But what would you guess our grade would have been if we had answered 'audience lifeline' style, on each question taking the answer that was the most chosen one among us? That's right A+ 100%. Which is shocking, to me at least.

And should make you think twice next time you are sure that

you know more than everybody else, you may even be right!, but

Everybody (together) certainly knows more than you...

Abe said you can't fool all of the people all of the time. Turns out at IPVM at least you can't even fool most of the people most of the time.

Note to admin: Totalling the percentages of all the correct answers and dividing by the number of questions yields 54%, not 48%, I think. Is this because of rounding to integers in the percentages?
