Hernan, please explain in more than 5 words. Give an example of a NIR IR sensor or an NIR IR camera or describe what you mean by near-IR.

Sorry for my short descriptions. NIR imaging sensor are the ones that response specifically to the near infrared spectrum. They are used in some specific applications such as ANPR.

Still not clear. ANPR typically uses 850nm IR. Are you referring to that? Can you give us the specific wavelength / frequency you are interested in?

Near infrared is longer, centered around the 1 mm wavelength mark. Like you said for night goggles and image intensifiers, as was discussed here.
