We are moving into a new space, very small and humble.

There is about 8 feet of counter space that we will use for a tech bench to stage equipment for projects. Plus cabinets for storage, etc. I think it used to be a mail room. FYI we do mostly Dahua and Ubiquiti wireless installs. We do not build servers or do much with Milestone.

I am thinking

PC

monitor with articulating wall mount

24 port Ubiquiti 24/48V PoE switch

Different colored patch cable to correspond with 24/48V ports

Plenty of outlets

Any other suggestions?

A ByteBrothers POE tester comes in handy in my lab.

You may also consider a small PC to run simulated cameras on for the case where you do not have real cams to put on a server/storage system.

You can find the Axis sim out on various web sites.   VLC can also do the trick but you need a PC with more horsepower to use it.
